Duke home tour: the nursery

This day has been a long time coming. I've been thinking about a nursery theme/design even before I found out we were pregnant. I literally could not wait to decorate a nursery for our baby boy or girl. When I found out we were having girl, I immediately knew I wanted to do a boho theme that was light, airy and had a lot of natural wood accents. Over the past few months we have worked on getting the nursery ready for baby girl's arrival and I am so excited to share it with you today. It was definitely a labor of love and I am so so happy with how it turned out. I have included some pictures below as well as the links to as many things as possible. I will also describe some of the choices we made in her room and why we decided to do certain things. As always if you have any questions or need to know where something is from - please let me know!

All my love,

Annemarie

Crib Area

-Crib: Babyletto Hudson in white/washed natural

-Accent wall: we actually decided to do the accent wall pretty last minute. We went back and forth about it because the wall the crib is on had a window so we wanted to do something different than the full wall. We knew we wanted to do something with natural wood and Duke had the idea to use three different size wood slats to create a unique and interesting pattern that will grab your attention. We love how it turned out and I plan to write a separate post on how we did it.

-Wood artwork: Duke made this as I wanted a special piece of art for above her crib. This is actually made out of the wood table runners that we had at our wedding so it is definitely extra special. I told Duke I wanted something geometric and a bunch of different pieces and he kind of took it from there. In total there are 180 pieces.

-Skull artwork: I got this from Hobby Lobby several years ago. It had a silver frame around it that Duke took off and he build the wood frame that's now around it.

-Bible verse artwork: from Hobby Lobby several years ago

-Llama rocker

-Crib sheet

-Crib bed skirt

-Cuddle+Kind Llama

-Pillow

**The llama and pillow will not be in there with baby, they're just for decorative purposes

Reading Corner

-Rocker

**Our rocker is out of stock but we also really liked this one

-Rattan side table

-Wood shelves: Duke made these

-Dreamcatcher

-Book basket

-Table lamp

-Faux fern

-Picture frame

Changing Area

-Changing table: from At Home several years ago. It is actually a console table that we are using as a changing table. I don't necessarily love the look of changing tables plus we will be able to turn this back into a console table once baby girl is out of diapers. We tried to re-purpose anything that we could in order to put money into other things.

-Storage baskets: I believe our exact ones are out of stock but they have a lot of similar options; this is where we will store diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, extra onesies, etc.

-Changing basket

-Storage canister: we are using this to house her pacifiers so we can keep them in a designated place and know where they are

-Macrame mirror

-Vase

-Pampas grass

-Picture frame

-Stuffed llama

-Cactus: we got ours from Wayfair. It's out of stock but Target also has a cute faux cactus

Miscellaneous Items

-Teepee

-Garland for teepee

-Pink pillow in teepee

-Macrame pillow in teepee: from Target. I couldn't find the exact one but here is something similar

-Cactus hamper

-Stuffed animal basket

-Accordion shelf

-Mini macrame wall hanging

-Bamboo hangers

-Wood hanging rainbow

-Wood "you are my sunshine" hanging: Duke and I made this

-Light fixture

-Area rug

Closet: for her closet I knew I wanted some sort of organization below her clothes. Baby clothes are so short that there would have been a lot of wasted space in the closet. Because of this, we decided to add cube storage from Target. Each basket on top is organized by clothing size and the baskets on the bottom provide extra storage for diapers, accessories, etc.

-Cube storage

-Cubes on top

-Cubes on bottom

-Swaddle organization: I used an over-the-door shoe organizer to store all her swaddles

No dresser??

You might be wondering why we don't have a dresser in her room. Well the cube storage basically serves that purpose so we didn't feel that having a dresser in her room was necessary. We also have a dresser in the guest bedroom that can hold extra clothes if we feel we are running out of storage space. We will probably add a dresser back into the room once she gets a little bit older.

Hope you love the nursery as much as we do! Thanks for stopping by!
